Notes: | This has got to be one of the best experiences I've had in my beer travels. Brewer/owner Lloyd Zimmerman doesn't normally take visitors, but he said he'd give me a tour before he heading off to his day job, offering me some "breakfast beers." This guy is quite an entertaining character. I think the best story he told was about when he ran for city council and he won the popular vote, but it was contested by his opponent, so the local court declared it a tie and forced a coin flip to decide it, which he lost. His story made it on CNN as the only case that he knows of in which a race was officially declared won, tied, and lost. Oh, and the beer was good too. I really enjoyed the unfiltered, unfiinished pale ale - very raw and meaty. |
