Notes: Granite City is a brewery chain in the Midwest and is very worthy of a visit. While they only have four beers on tap (the 2-Pull and The Admiral each are mixes of two other beers), what they do present is quite tasty, as is their food. Just like many other craft breweries in the "Bud Belt" of the Midwest and South, they offer a light beer, Northern Lights, to please the masses, while producing well-balanced craft beers to draw consumer into the world of quality beer. The Duke Wellington IPA presented a bit of everything good about an IPA - it was grassy, citrusy, crisp, and surprisingly clean and dry. The Broad Axe Stout is the perfect gateway beer for the Guiness crowd as it follows the Dry Irish style like Guiness with its roasty, light body and dry finish.
