| Notes: | Visiting Elk Grove Brewery is like taking a step back 100-150 years. The building is an old general store, and inside are all kinds of artifacts from another time. Each dining table features underneath a thick layer of laquer old pictures, post cards, formal notices, and embossed items like certificates and stocks. The building walls are classic red brick; the brewery kettles are classic copper, and the bar is classic saloon style with wooden furnishings, a mirror in the back, and a rack of liquors. The only thing featured that doesn't match the decor is the beer which is clearly modern craft style as any patron of craft beer would expect. Over in the corner of the bar is a glass cabinet featuring numerous beer awards from the World Beer Cup, Great American Beer Festival, and the California State Fair. So, it should come as no surprise that these beers are excellent. The beer lineup represents a broad spectrum from light to full bodied and complex to meet the demanding palates of the casual beer consumer to the demanding aficionado. |
