Don't be surprised if a katoey (pronounced kuh-toy, it is a gay man who's had physically altering surgery to appear like a woman) serves you - metropolitan Thailand is home to many. Like all the native breweries in Thailand, this one caters to the more common palate of Europeans and make their beers somewhat light to match the hot weather (lagers mostly). Even though Thai lagers aren't on par with European lagers, you will find craft beers in this region a godsend among all the bland macro-beers normally sold. |
