DON'T LET THE POOR RATINGS FOOL YOU! I sampled these beers long before my palate could handle the hop onslaught of Pacific Northwest beers. I've since been back many, many times (this is one my favorite places), and most of these beers deserve a 4 on the "flavor" portion of my scoring (position five in the seven digit score), and the ones that don't deserve a 4 deserve at least a 3. You won't find a better selection of beers tailored specifically for the hophead anywhere else in Washington, which makes this one of my top five favorite breweries. Sure, the brewpub itself isn't anything out of the ordinary, and the food selection is decent, at best (but what they have is good), but the beer and the location in the "U District" easily make up for that.

UPDATE: I visited again on 5 April 2002, and it was then that I realized my initial ratings were a complete mistake. This is one of the best brewpubs in Washington in regard to beer quality. This is a hophead's dream! Here are the beers I reviewed:
