| Notes: | Featuring a former Rogue Brewing brewer (Kevin), it comes as no surprise the exceptional quality of the beer here. Not surprsing either is the classic brewing storyline - very small batches carefully crafted for draft by one dedicated brewer with a small staff. The best breweries start this way, and I see a prosperous future for Amnesia if it can survive the tribulations of the first five to ten years in which most noble efforts fail. Beerwise, I found the dichotomy of the Wonka Porter a palatal adventure, with the silkiness of the initial mouthfeel nicely contrasted by a bitterness in the aftertaste that increased as it lingered. The other three beers I sampled were equally intriguing, and though I didn't have the time to stay and eat, I understand the brewery serves fresh barbecued meals, which is something you'd be hard pressed to find at any brewery in the region. |
